Angola
Angola, officially the Republic of Angola is a country in Southern Africa bordered by Namibia on the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the north, and Zambia on the east; its west coast is on the Atlantic Ocean and Luanda is its capital city. Angola has a size of Total area: 481,350 sq miles (1,246,699 sq km) which is about twice the size of Texas. Angola has a total estimated population of 18,056,072 growing at an average annual rate of 2.78%. The official language is Portuguese.
Angola has been rocked by civil wars since independence, and the country’s education is just beginning to return to normality. Primary education is from grade 1-9 and the primary school age is from 6 to 14yrs. The first 4 years are free and compulsory. About 85% of urban children and nearly 70% of rural children are enrolled to attend primary school. The language of instruction is Portuguese
