EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mrs Toziba Masalila (Botswana) joined SEACMEQ in 2012 as the Deputy Director from the Ministry of Education and Skills Development in Botswana where she worked as Director of the Department of Educational Planning and Research Services.  She was appointed Acting Director from January 2013. Mrs Toziba Masalila has two Master of Arts Degrees, including a Masters in Educational Planning and Management obtained at the IIEP in Paris in 2007. Her thesis was based on data collected for the SACMEQ II Project. She was the SACMEQ National Research Co-ordinator for SACMEQ III Project in Botswana, and had previously worked with the Botswana Central Statistics Office for 17 years before joining Ministry of Education in 2005.

Technical Manager

Mr Moris Awich (Botswana) joined SACMEQ in 2015 as Technical Manager . Mr Moris Awich holds a BSc (Physics and Mathematics), PGDE, MEd (Research, Measurement, and Evaluation). He has experience with SACMEQ studies, especially SACMEQ III as Deputy National Research Coordinator. Past work experience includes: High school teaching, worked as senior and principal research officer for policy research, monitoring and evaluation at the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, and Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Botswana.

Programme Assistant

Mrs Constance Masilo (Botswana) joined SEACMEQ in 2017 as Programme Assistant.  Mrs Masilo holds a Diploma in Secretarial Studies (BIAC).  Worked for the University of Botswana (Faculty of Education, Dept. of Educational Foundations) and SADC Secretariat on multiple programmes funded by different donors including the European Union.

Information Technology Technician

Mr Batisani John (Botswana) joined SEACMEQ in 2024 as an Information Technology Technician. He is a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in Business Information Systems, holding a degree from the University of Botswana. With over 5 years of dedicated experience, he specializes in cybersecurity, networking, server management, and information systems. Batisani's career is marked by a passion for ensuring robust security protocols and efficient network infrastructures. He has successfully implemented cutting-edge solutions that optimize server performance and enhance overall information systems efficiency. His expertise spans across both public and private sectors, where he has played a pivotal role in safeguarding critical data and ensuring seamless operational continuity.

Finance and Administration Officer

Ms. Tapiwa Kangwa (Botswana) joined SEACMEQ in August 2024 as a Finance and Administration Officer from the University of Botswana, where she served as a Finance Manager. Tapiwa is an accountant with extensive experience in research grants administration and project administration in complex environments.

Finance Intern 

Osenotse Shaun Mabote (Botswana) joined SEACMEQ in August 2024 as a Finance Intern, in this role, he assists with financial reporting, budgeting, and grant management to ensure efficiency in the Finance Department. With a strong foundation in financial analysis and a passion for social impact, Osenotse Shaun Mabote is committed to supporting initiatives that improve learning outcomes. He is currently pursuing a degree in Finance at University Botswana with a background of a Diploma in Accounting and Business from the University of Botswana and a Construction Management Certificate from University of Cape Town where he has developed expertise in financial management, finance in construction and nonprofit operations.
